SYO Announces New CEO

The Chair of Sydney Youth Orchestras, Jan Bowen, is delighted to announce that the Board of Governors has appointed Dr Antony Ernst as the new CEO of Sydney Youth Orchestras. Antony has an extensive musical background, including a PhD in Music, and is currently Manager of Artistic Planning at the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO). He will be starting with SYO in mid-February.

As part of his role at the APO Antony has worked extensively with young musicians and we are confident he will work harmoniously with our staff, our students and our broader SYO ‘family’.

We are also sure that under Antony’s leadership SYO will continue to develop and strengthen its position as an integral part of the cultural landscape of Sydney and New South Wales. This is an exciting and challenging prospect and I look forward to us all working together to achieve that goal.
